The promotion seminar for the 102nd session of the Canton Fair was held in Warsaw on September 4, 2007. The seminar was jointly sponsored by China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC, the organizer of Canton Fair) and Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of Chinese Embassy in Warsaw, with support of Centrum Informacji Gospodarczej. Mr. Wang Runsheng, General Manager of CFTC, Mr. Han Bing, Economic and Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy and an official from Ministry of Commerce of the P.R. China were present at the seminar and delivered speeches to promoting Canton Fair, introduce China’s new policies in foreign trade and the latest development in economic cooperation and trade between Poland and China
Canton Fair is the largest fair in China and held twice a year in Spring and Autumn since it was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957. it has become a comprehensive international trade event in China with the longest history, the largest scale, the biggest variety of exhibits, the largest number of buyers and the highest turnover, and enjoys the reputation as “China’s No.1 Fair”. In the 101st session of Canton fair, almost 15,000 companies showcased their latest offers, as well as more than 200,000 domestic and foreign buyers visited the fair with the business turnover of $36.3 billion.
In the past, the full name of Canton Fair was Chinese Export Commodities Fair, In order to promote import from abroad and achieve rough balance on foreign trade, Chinese government has decided to change the name of Chinese Export Commodities Fair into China Import and Export Fair from the 101st session. Therefrom International Pavilion has been set up and interational exhibitors are warmly welcome to the Canton Fair.
There were almost one hundred persons from business circle and media present at the seminar, Some Polish business persons got the Invitation of Canton Fair on the spot.
