Address of Commercial Counselor
2004-12-06 04:52

Welcome to the website of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Poland.

Since the implementation of reform and opening-up policy, China's all-directional, multi-layered and wide-range opening up pattern has taken shape. After the WTO accession, China’s policies become more transparent, all the laws are improved, the opening up is strengthened in width and depth and the market economy is also developing quickly. Over the 25 years, the average annual growth rate of China’s economy is higher than that of the whole world by ca 6 percent. The development of China’s economy has created a new large market for the world. In 2003, the annual import of China was valued at USD 421.8 billion, which enabled us to become the world's 3rd largest importer, following the U.S.A and Germany. It is predicted that China’s annual import will reach USD 500 billion in 2005 and USD 1000 billion in 2010.

The economic development has also made China an ideal place for investment of the world, and China has been recognized as the country of the highest investment confidence for 2 years in a row by the global management consultant A.T. Kearney, and it is also estimated by UN Trade Development Conference that China will rank as top among the hot spots for international FDI in the world in the next 2 years.

In recent years, the Sino-Polish cooperation in economy and trade is developing rapidly. Poland is China’s 2nd trade partner in the Central and Eastern Europe and China is Poland’s biggest trade partner in Asia. I am confident that there are great potentials for development of China and Poland in bilateral trade, investment as well as economic and technological cooperation, and our office would like to act as a bridge for Sino-Polish economic and trade cooperation, and to provide services for Chinese and Polish companies, to promote further development of the bilateral economic and trade relationship.
